WHAT IS ACUPUNCTURE:
Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese practice that utilizes small, thin, solid, sterile, one use needles These needles then stimulate the body's nervous system, regulate blood circulation, and release pain relieving hormones. Acupuncture helps the body heal! Acupuncture techniques have been developed and refined for over 2500 years. Acupuncture is useful in treating pain as part of a larger pain management plan or used alone in painful conditions.
SESSION
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Initial treatments are 90 minutes long. This gives me enough time to do a Western Medical Examination, as well as, a Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medical diagnosis based on a thorough health history, observing, touching, listening and inquiring about the patient. Based on the exams and diagnosis, an effective and individualized treatment plan is established and the first acupuncture treatment in provided.
Follow up treatments are 60 minutes long. The first 15 minutes will be spent discussing improvements and changes from the last treatment. The next 45 minutes will be for acupuncture and possibly other modalities.
Acupuncture treatments work best in a quiet, comfortable area. Most patients show improvements within 3 - 5 sessions. Initially treatments are weekly but are adjusted to the individual.
